||This tour is a circular route around the perimeter of the Parco Regionale dei Colli Euganei (Euganean Hills Regional Park) and passes numerous tourist destinations.
This tour starts from Abano Montegrotto Therme and continues to Battaglia Therme with the Castello del Catajo (Catajo Castle) to visit, the imposing residence of the Obizzi family, the Villa Selvatico-Sartori, and a little further on Villa Emo with its typical Italian gardens
|After few kilometers you reach Monselice, where you can visit the market square, the castle, and the nearby Jubilee Sanctuary of the Seven Churches footpath, on Monte della Rocca which is a mediaeval stronghold.
Returning to your route and heading South along the Canal Bisatto, you will cross a large reclaimed area where you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the whole Southern part of the Euganean Hills.
|To the West you can see Este and its 14th century castle which you will reach after just another five kilometers. We cross the marvelous Ateste town centre between porticoed palazzo, squares and churches, before climbing up to the bank of the Canal Bisatto.|
|In the Bomba area in Cinto Euganeo the waterway runs beside an old furnace which now houses the Euganean Hills geo-paleontological museum.
|Your route continues towards Mount Lozzo. At its foot stands the intact Castello di Valbona (Valbona Castle). From there you keep on going to Vo' Vecchio which surprises ist visitors with a unique sense of the past.|
|In Bastia di Rovolon the cycle path crosses the famous Euganean vineyards which produce lovely red wines and the fragrant Moscato Fior d'Arancio.
On reaching the North-Eastern tip of the hills, it is worth planning a break to visit the Abbazia di Praglia (Praglia Abbey), a real jewel of the Renaissance and important centre of Benedictine spirituality.
The last leg towards Padua goes through the thermal spa towns of Abano and Montegrotto Terme, European capitals of well-being and wellness treatments.
